Lisa Herpolsheimer, LCSW, C-DBT, CCTP-II. Executive Director, Clinical Supervisor, and Lead DBT Therapist
Lisa is the founder of the Wise Mind DBT & CBT Center. Lisa has over 24 years of Post-Masters' Degree clinical experience as a practicing psychotherapist, in addition to her well-respected work as a Clinical Leader, Director, and Clinical Supervisor.

Lisa is known for her ability to build a
deep, genuine, and meaninful theraputic relationship with her therapy participants.
Lisa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Wisconsin (Independent Practice Level).
Lisa completed her Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training through Marsha Linehan, Ph.D's official training institute, Behavioral Tech, LLC (Dr. Linehan is the professional who developed DBT); training through Dr. Linehan's institute is the gold-standard of intensive DBT training available in the world.

Therapy participants highly value working with her, because they are able to more deeply explore their feelings, build insight into patterns in their lives, and develop a renewed confidence in their ability to recover and reach the life goals that they may have thought were just too far out of reach.

Lisa's therapeutic style is warm and engaging; sessions with Lisa are a blend of deep therapeutic processing with a client-centered/strengths-based perspective, and your sessions will also include instruction and active practice of the DBT Skills, CBT techiques, or Trauma Treatment Based Care, as your needs dictate. You will experience both supportive, validating care in session, while also learning and practicing deeply powerful skills to help you manage emotions, mental heath symptoms, and take on life's challenges more effectively as they arise in your life out of session.

Lisa believes in your inner resilience, and in your ability to build a life truly worth living--she believes in your capacity to exceed even your own expectations in recovery. Working with Lisa you will become more skillful in meeting the many challenges you face every day; you will learn how to better regulate even very intense emotions, and Lisa will work with you to build a compassionate relationship toward yourself. In addition, your work with Lisa may also include working on strategies to strengthen your relationships with others that you value in your life.
Lisa will "hold space" for you to walk through the difficult emotions, thoughts, and fears in your sessions. In moments when you may be overwhelmed, or unsure of what you're feeling (but you know it's a lot!), she will help to identify and validate your emotions. She will guide you through experiencing your emotions and help you to select the "next effective step forward" during times of overwhelm.
Lisa provides both compassionate AND effective therapeutic treatment, and particularly excels in providing care for complex, "multi-diagnostic" therapy participants. Lisa specializes in working with emotionally sensitive persons. Therapy participants are asked to come to therapy in a willing state, ready to do the work collaboratively with her, for the best therapy experience and best therapeutic outcomes. Lisa will work alongside you to tailor your treatment goals for immediate needs, middle term needs, and your long-term needs and recovery goals.

Lisa is Certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT, PESI/EGC), and is Certified in Complex Clinical Trauma Treatment and Recovery Techniques (CCTP-II, PESI/EGC). Lisa is also approved as a provider of Clinical Supervision for therapists and graduate students. Lisa has also provided Professional Continuing Education Seminars and Lectures as an invited expert at a number of professional therapy conferences throughout her career.

Lisa is licensed to provide therapy services in Wisconsin. Wisconsin residents may see Lisa for weekly In-Person/In-Office Sessions or may attend weekly sessions via secure Telehealth.

Avery Hall, MA, LPC, C-DBT,
DBT & CBT Psychotherapist
Avery specializes in providing engaging, compassionate,
and highly effective care for individuals with emotional sensitivity/emotion regulation problems, and is adept at providing care for complex/multi-diagnostic
mental health concerns.
She provides in depth, strengths-based and client-centered psychotherapy to the genuine Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) model of care as it was developed by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D.
Listen to a Podcast featuring Avery as she introduces DBT to the host of "A Healthy Place" Podcast.
Avery is a warm, very genuine, and a highly invested & engaged therapist who walks collaboratively alongside her therapy participants as they learn to walk the path of Skillful Living through DBT. Avery is also dual-trained in Cognitive Behavioral Techniques (CBT) and she tailors treatment to your unique needs and goals. Using strategies from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Avery helps individuals learn to skillfully navigate their “emotional minefield” and how to effectively manage intense emotions.

Avery believes that you are capable of skillfully and effectively navigating your "emotional minefield," thus reducing the intensity and frequency of cycles of emotional suffering that you may have been going through for a very, very long time.

Avery will be "all-in" with you on this journey toward your recovery, and she deeply believes that you are capable of attaining substantial, meaningful, and lasting recovery in your life.

Avery often works with teens, adults, and families who are navigating Sensitive and Dysregulated Emotions, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, OCD, Disordered Eating, ADHD, and Borderline Personality Disorder (or BPD traits). She also works effectively with individuals that have been experiencing self-destructive cycles of behavior in their lives that they are motivated to change.

Avery creates a safe space for you to learn to identify your emotions, will guide you through experiencing your emotions, and she will help you to observe patterns in your life and examine these patterns for opportunities for positive therapeutic change. Avery will walk alongside you as you work hard to interrupt unhelpful patterns of behavior/patterns in your life. Avery believes you deserve to live a life with less moments of intense suffering, as you walk the path collaboratively with her toward "next-level" deeper and lasting recovery.

Avery will balance Acceptance and Change in therapy. This means she will evidence compassionate acceptance of you--just as you are right now—AND she will also be teaching you powerful skills to help you to achieve change and personal growth through teaching you the DBT Skills in your therapy sessions.

Avery asks that her therapy participants follow through with DBT Skills Based Homework and Assignments through the week to help integrate DBT Skillful Living most fully in day-to-day life. Avery believes you can experience moments of joy, renewed passions, calm, contentment, and inter-connectedness again.
Most importantly, she deeply believes that you can BUILD A LIFE WORTH LIVING---more specifically this means: not just a life you are tolerating---rather the goal is to build a life that YOU experience as personally fulfilling, that you believe is worth holding onto...a life you want to keep fighting for in your recovery.

Avery is licensed to provide therapy services in both Wisconsin and South Carolina. Wisconsin residents may see Avery for weekly In-Person/In-Office Sessions or may attend weekly sessions via secure Telehealth. South Carolina residents may see Avery weekly via Secure Telehealth Services only.

Roxanne further adds: “If this [blend of high emotional sensitivity traits] sounds like you, you may be feeling like you don't fit in or belong in the world, and you wonder about the meaning and purpose of your life. You may experience a wide range of deep emotions throughout the day that no one else seems to understand, leaving you feeling lonely and guilty, ashamed, or depressed about your thoughts, behaviors, or coping methods. You may be asking yourself, "what's wrong with me?”
Roxanne further goes on to explain: “The truth is, there's nothing wrong with you. You're simply part of the 20-30% of the population that uniquely perceives and experiences the world, a challenging gift we can move toward harnessing and embracing. What would it do for you to fully accept yourself and effectively cope with all of your thoughts and emotions with skillfulness toward achieving your highest goals and fully accepting yourself with compassion? Using a combination of solution-focused, strengths-based, and behavioral therapies, I'll partner with you to transform how you see yourself and experience your life. I look forward to meeting you!”

Roxanne provides predominately individual therapy with older teens, young adults and adults.
Her clinical areas of expertise include: Emotional Sensitivity/Regulation Problems, Borderline Personality Disorder (or BPD traits), ADD/ADHD-Attention Deficit Disorders (in teens or adults), Thriving with Giftedness, Complex Mood Disorders including Depression and Anxiety, Overcoming Perfectionism, Enhancing Work/Life Balance, PTSD and Complex PTSD/Trauma Recovery, Overcoming Self-Defeating or Self-Limiting Patterns of Thoughts or Behaviors, Career/Relationship/Or Loss Transitions, Depth Psychotherapeutic Techniques (examining the impact of the past on your present functioning, and healing core wounds through in-depth therapy processing work).
